This is the 13th Annual Season of Catskills Sewing Retreats. Hard to believe our very first retreat was held in Beacon NY in 2013.
Come spend a long weekend with Megan Avery, longtime sewing instructor and your personal camp counselor for the weekend.
She'll help you with your challenging sewing projects and take you to all the secret Catskills hikes and swimming holes when you're not sewing.
The sewing takes place in the peaceful sewing studio set on 5 acres of natural beauty in the heart of the Catskills. Megan fell in love with this property and now lives here full-time and teaches sewing here year-round. She has converted one of the outbuildings into a cozy, creative sewing studio & invites everyone to experience it with her at Sewing Camp.

You are welcome to sew whatever you would like at the Catskills Sewing Retreat. Bring sewing projects that will challenge you! You'll have access to Megan's personalized instruction from 10am - 4pm on Friday and Saturday.
If you are a beginner, we suggest starting with some of our Hipstitch Academy Learn to Sew Projects in order to solidify your sewing skills. Or find a beginner sewing pattern to tackle over the weekend. If you have no idea where to start, just show up. We'll take care of the rest.
If you already have sewing experience and have a pile of projects you'd like to tackle - this is exactly what the weekend is meant for. Gather your fabric and notions needed for these challenging projects and bring them with you!
Bring any sewing tools you already have and cannot live without. Small tools like scissors, pins, thread, needles, measuring devices, writing utensils can be accessed at the retreat, but if you have your own, it's recommended you bring them with you.
Please note: Fabric & other supplies are not included in the price of the retreat. You can purchase fabric at the retreat. We have a limited supply of sewing patterns, as well as woven & knit fabrics.
Sewing machines can be rented if you don't have your own or don't feel like dragging it with you. There are plenty of irons (regular home irons) and ironing stations, so you don't have to worry about that.
You will have access to numerous sewing pattern options that you can choose from and utilize. These may need to be printed and taped together at the retreat. So if you'd rather not spend your class time doing that, come prepared.
